About
Hello, my name is Krista Schmidt and this is my blog. I’m a senior music education major at Grove City College. My concentration is in the clarinet. I’ve been playing the clarinet since I was nine years old and I’ve also played the bass clarinet for five years. At Grove City I’m in the Marching Band, Wind Ensemble, Orchestra, Concert Band, and occasionally the Chapel Choir. I’m the president of the Grove City chapter of MENC and I’m very involved in Signature (The Women’s Fine Arts Service Group). In my spare time I like to spend time with my friends and play tennis. After graduation I’d like to get a job as a band director close to my home in Western Maryland. One thing I’ve always enjoyed talking to “music people” about is different pieces of Symphonic Band Literature. I’m also pretty good at remembering a lot about pieces that I’ve played. In my blog I will discuss different types of pieces and composers. Some of them will be widely known and some might be a little more obscure. I hope you enjoy reading my blog!
